There are those among us, however, who propose a different solution – that we disarm ourselves and surrender to those who would rob, threaten, and murder us. Not surprisingly, those who propose this solution are precisely those who are bent on robbing, threatening, and murdering us – most volubly among them our own federal government.
The pen is a mighty sword. It can cut an adversary to ribbons with well placed thrusts, prescient parries, and quick ripostes. It can slice through the thick curtain of superstition and ignorance and shine the light of knowledge and understanding on the human mind. It is, however, a two edged sword. In the hands of a Josef Geobels or a Ben Rhodes, it can be used to promulgate disinformation, hatred, and lies.
There are those among us who propose to rectify this situation by imposing restrictions on the use of the pen. As in the case of guns, however, it turns out that the people who advocate pen control are precisely those who are intent on indoctrinating us with disinformation, hatred, and lies. And again, our own federal government is at the forefront of this assault.
Last week, events in Clark County Nevada uncovered a scandal in which Senator Harry Reid was using a federal agency, the Bureau of Land Management, in a plot to illegally appropriate the land of an American Citizen – land his family had held and worked for 140 years – as part of a scheme to enrich himself and Warren Buffet at the expense of Cliven Bundy and the people of Nevada.
Over the past hundred years, federal agencies have been created by Congress to make our lives, so we've been told, easier and safer. A few of these, such as Teddy Roosevelt's Food and Drug Administration and Eisenhower's National Aeronautics and Space Administration have in fact had positive impacts on the lives and fortunes of American citizens. Others, such as Nixon's Environmental Protection Agency started out with good intentions but soon, like guns and pens, were prostituted to the nefarious interests of the Washington Mafia. Still other agencies, such as Carter's Education Department and Obama's Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection, were designed from the start to suppress the rights of the American people.
Senator Reid dispatched armed federal agents to threaten unarmed civilians. We have put guns in the hands of the criminals who want to rob, threaten, and murder us. Also, the Fox News truck was the only one present when armed civilian militiamen faced down the BLM goons. We have put the pens in the hands of the purveyors of disinformation, hatred, and lies. And Senator Reid used a federal agency – an entity touted as a great benefit to the people – to oppress and coerce the people. We have put the power of the people in the hands of the enemies of the people.
We cannot take the guns from the hands of the criminals, whether in or out of the federal government. We can only keep our own guns well oiled and our closets well stocked with ammunition. We cannot take the pens from the hands of the Marxist-Socialist Media. We can only keep ourselves informed enough to deflect their disinformation, hatred, and lies. But we can take back the power of the people from the hands of the enemies of the people – if we are willing to stand together.
