Among the most powerful tools we have at our disposal in the war against our federal government is the vote. But just exercising our right of suffrage is not enough. We have to vote intelligently. Don't vote a straight ticket. Almost half the thieves and liars in Washington have a big R behind their names. Do not watch political ads on television; they are no different than commercial ads – lying to you to sell a product.
There are 33 Senate seats up for reelection in 2014. Twenty one of them are held by Democrats. You can get a good rundown on the races at the following link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Senate_elections,_2014 Pick the races where you can make a difference and learn all you can about the candidates. Then vote on election day.
The House is safe for Republicans this election. There are only three districts, one each in Utah, West Virginia, and Georgia, where incumbents—all Democrats – are trailing challengers at this time. All but two of the 25 Republican seats where the incumbent is not running are in red States, and two of the 16 Democrat seats where the incumbent is not running are in red States.
The First Amendment's guarantee of the right to petition the government for redress must not be abandoned. Find out who your representatives are in Washington and in your State capital, and put their email addresses in your address book. (Tip: I preface the screen name of all Congressmen, Senators, and agency heads – both federal and State – with the numeral 2, so they will appear together in my contact list.) You can find your federal representative at http://www.house.gov/representatives/find/
Then write them. Let them know what you're thinking and how you feel on issues that are important to you. They may not agree with you, but they will know they are not operating in a vacuum. It is extremely important that they be aware that the people are watching them and care what they do.. Criminals are cowards, and they prefer to conduct their dastardly activities in the dark.
Article V of the Constitution provides that "The Congress, ... on the application of the legislatures of two thirds of the several States, shall call a convention for proposing amendments, which ... shall be valid ... as part of this constitution, when ratified by the legislatures of three fourths of the several States." There is a concerted effort under way now to accomplish an Article V convention for the purpose of limiting the power of the federal government. I know this all sounds like a lot of work and the sacrifice of some of your TV time, but the alternative is slavery – for you and for your children's children. Freedom is like a black eye: nobody just gives it to you. You've got to fight for it!
