I recently authorized an operation in Libya to detain an individual charged for his role in those attacks, Ahmed Abu Khattala."
You can tell from the number of I s in the above quote that it is the narcissist-in-chief speaking. And what is he saying? "I have made it a priority to find and bring to justice those responsible...?" Really? If this is the result of a Presidential priority, I should hate to see the results of an operation that had not been prioritized.
Ahmed Abu Khattala has been walking freely around the streets of Benghazi for the last twenty months. He was never in hiding. CNN reporter Arwa Damon interviewed him a year ago – in Benghazi. Khattala stated in that interview that the FBI, when they were in Benghazi investigating the attack, never even asked to talk to him.
So why now? Why did Obama only "recently authorize an operation ... to detain .. Khattala?" Why not immediately after the attack, in September 2012? Was he hoping Khattala would get away so Obama wouldn't have to apprehend him, or was he hoping he could pass Benghazi off as something other than what it was and that Benghazi would eventually go away?
But why now? Why ten weeks after the House voted to form a select committee to investigate Benghazi? Could it be that Obama has decided he has to so something – anything – to establish a record of having done something before TSHTF when the Gowdy Committee gets up and running just before the mid-terms? Or is the President of the United States so slow-witted that it takes him twenty months to decide to apprehend the killer of four Americans?
Either way it's frightening!
And why try Khattala in a civil court? He committed no crime within the jurisdiction of the United States judiciary. Could it be that, as a Muslim, Obama cannot sign the death warrant for another Muslim, as he would have to do if Khattala were found guilty by a military court?
