Following this act of domestic terrorism, Attorney General Janet Reno initiated a Domestic Terrorism Executive Committee to monitor "right-wing extremist" organizations within the United States. The Committee was dissolved following the September 2001 Muslim attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
Two days ago, on Tuesday 3 June, Attorney General Eric Holder announced the reactivation of Reno's Domestic Terrorist Executive Committee for the purpose of monitoring " ... individuals within our own borders who may be motivated by a variety of ... causes from anti-government animus to racial prejudice.”
Although Holder threw in "racial prejudice" for window dressing, his main concern is clearly "anti-government animus." But anti-government animus is protected by the Constitution and is applauded and promoted in the Declaration of Independence.
Anti-government animus was, in fact, the major impetus behind the drafting of the Constitution in 1787, it was the sole reason for the addition of the Bill of Rights to the Constitution in 1789, and it was the justification for the ratification of the Constitution in 1791. It is the corner stone of the American Republic – the thing that makes America unique among the other nations of the world. The entire process of founding the American Republic was an exercise in anti-government animus, and anti-government animus was and still is synonymous with Americanism!
Why then should the Department of Justice of the United States be concerned with tracking anti-government animus, AKA Americanism? There can be only one answer to that question: because the Department of Justice of the United States is anti-American!
This latest initiative by Attorney General Eric Hoodlum has no visible purpose other than to ratchet up the IRS war against conservatives and to augment the NSA's domestic spying program. All of these operations share a common primary goal: to stifle dissent. If you are afraid of the NSA fingering you as a "dissident," or of the DoJ incarcerating you as a "domestic terrorist," or of the IRS confiscating your bank account and possessing your home because you had the temerity to speak out against the government, you tend to keep your mouth shut.
What our government is trying to accomplish is nothing less than the practical repeal of the First Amendment, which guarantees " ... the right of the people peaceably to assemble and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." The only "domestic terrorism" rampant in the United States today is that being practiced by the NSA, the IRS, and the DoJ. It is a concerted government campaign to terrorize the American populace into silence.
A secondary – and even more ominous – objective of Holder's Domestic Terrorist Executive Committee, of course, is to further President Obama's Hitlerian dream of a weak and compliant gun free citizenry. Because guess what? If you designate armed militias as domestic terrorist groups, you can legally disarm them. Provided you've got the guts to try!
