The only problem is we are not in a nickelodeon watching slapstick comedians. We're in a critically dangerous period, both domestically and internationally, watching our slapstick President bouncing off the walls and blithering, "Well, Stanley, fine mess you've gotten us into this time!"
Anyone who has spent any time in the military or in a position of control in a corporation, or even as a leader of a Boy Scout Troop, is aware of the first law of command: "The ball is always in your court." It's up to you, boy. You and no one else. There's no one you can blame if you screw up. You're in command. If you screw up, YOU screwed up!
Presidents and CEOs of corporations and Lieutenants leading a platoon in combat don't have time to search for someone to blame for their mistakes. They must be capable of instantly evaluating their actions, isolating their errors, and correcting for them. Instantly! We have a President who is patently incapable of doing that!
We have a President in denial. "It's just impossible for me to make mistakes. Everything bad that happens to me is the fault of Republicans or radical conservatives or – or – or racists! And the bad things that are happening to the country? They aren't really that bad. In fact, the country – and the whole world, actually – is better off under my command than it's ever been before in its history."
These are the classic symptoms of paranoia – delusions of grandeur, persecution complex, and rejection of reality. If I had seen this patient when I was a hospital corpsman at Oak Knoll Psychiatric Hospital sixty years ago, I would have recommended him for electric shock therapy.
Our President is a paranoid – the victim of a very dangerous and very debilitating mental disease. Paranoids are brash and extroverted, often quite voluble and confident – on the surface. But underneath, they are consumed with the imaginary machinations of their delusional enemies. And their egocentrically distorted view of reality renders them virtually incapable of making logical decisions.
Only a paranoid would have perceived it to be in his best interest to refuse to go view the Texas border debacle when he was less than 200 miles away on a "campaign fund raiser." To a paranoid, such an obvious (to others) politically positive move would be an admission of his (subconsciously recognized) complicity in the problem – and a paranoid cannot ever under any circumstances admit complicity in a problem. Especially not to himself!
Paranoia is the only thing that could explain the Presidents frenetic dither-panic-lie-dither-panic-lie behavior anent the necessity of invading Syria a year ago. Paranoids are unable to differentiate between efficacious and deleterious activity – due to their inability to perceive reality objectively.
So what do we do? We have a raving mental patient running our country. If Harry Greed and the Democrats were not in control of the US Senate, this fruitcake would have been impeached long ago. It is imperative that we elect conservative republicans to the Senate in November and that we, as soon as practicable thereafter, impeach and remove President Obama from office. Before he does more damage to our beloved republic.
Otherwise, we are the ones in denial!
