On Tuesday, 1 July, a group of about 150 angry, flag waving men and women outside Murrieta California stood in the middle of the highway and blocked US leased busses carrying 164 illegal immigrants that the federal government was going to release without supervision (i. e. dump) into the Murrieta community. The feds backed down, turned their busses around, and went back to San Diego.
On Saturday, 12 April, a band of armed patriots confronted the armed and belligerent federal Bureau of Land Management who were attempting to rustle the cattle of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy. The feds backed down, released the cattle, and left the scene with their tails between their legs.
These instances illustrate a basic fact – a fact that is vitally important for every American to understand. The federal government has no legal jurisdiction in your State! None. Whatever Pretendent Obama may think of the Constitution, it is still the law of the land, and the Constitution clearly states in Article I Section 8 the limited powers granted by the States to the federal government.
They are allowed to levy taxes, to borrow money, to regulate interstate commerce, to establish rules of naturalization and bankruptcies, to coin money and punish counterfeiting, to maintain a post office, to issue patents, to establish federal courts and to punish piracy, to declare war, and to raise an army and maintain a navy.
Since Nixon abrogated the right of the federal government to maintain a post office, the only possible legal authority the federal government could have in your State would be to regulate interstate commerce or to control counterfeiting.
Furthermore, the tenth Article of the Bill of Rights - the last words in the Constitution – clearly state that "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
For a hundred years, since Woodrow Wilson, we have allowed the federal government to take control of our States, one tiny step at a time. Barack Obama’s blatant acceleration of that usurpation has brought America to a tipping point. Americans throughout the country are saying, "No more, damit! No more!"
The federal government is a paper tiger. They want and expect you to just roll over and spread your legs again. But if you stand up and tell them "no!" they scurry back to Washington like frightened children. We’ve got to keep telling them "no!"
But you can’t do it alone. Cliven Bundy would have lost if hundreds of armed citizens hadn’t come to his aid and faced down the feds. You need leverage, and the greatest leverage you have is in your State Capital.
Stop DC in Austin is an effort to rouse the grass roots discontent with the theft of our State’s rights into meaningful and effective action. Your State Senators and Representatives are not part of the Washington aristocracy. Their concerns – and their hopes for re-election – are aligned with the concerns of the citizens of their State. We have only to tell them what those concerns are.
And if you’re not fortunate enough to be from Texas, start your own SDCI movement in your State. We Texans tend to brag a bit, bur in the final analysis, we can’t do this alone. We need all the help we can get.
