There is a mental aberration prevalent today that focuses almost entirely on deductive thinking, to the virtual exclusion of corrective inductive thinking. We call this aberration liberalism. The source of the malady is the victims concentration on his own objectives and desires without regard to the welfare of others or to the ultimate effects of his actions.
Inductive reasoning is disinterested and objective; deductive reasoning has a subjective agenda. Inductive reasoning says, "I observe that if you pay people not to work, they will stop working; and I observe that if you stop paying them not to work, they will go back to work." Deductive reasoning says, "If I take money from people who work and give it to people who don't want to work, the people who don't want to work will vote for me to keep getting the money."
A mentally healthy mind will follow the deductive reasoning above with inductive reasoning from the observations that the taxes necessitated by redistribution of wealth drastically impede the economy, the source of those taxes, and will necessarily result in less and less wealth to redistribute. The liberal mind seems incapable of achieving the level of unselfishness necessary to perceive that inductive conclusion.
Self serving deductive thinking is rampant in Washington Den o' Crooks. Eric Holder told Juan Williams on Fox News this week that the function of an attorney general is "to change things," and that "any attorney general who isn't an activist isn't doing their job." This is pure, egomaniacal deductive thinking – "How can I use the law to my own advantage?" – as opposed to inductive thinking – "the law is an absolute, and I have been hired by the people to uphold and enforce it."
Conservatives are predominantly inductive thinkers. We readily perceive the idiocies inherent in liberal actions and we tend to laugh at them. We should be angry and scared instead. Liberals don't care if they look funny, so long as they accomplish their nefarious objectives!
Conservatives have got to grow some deductive thinking. There is no known cure for liberalism. Our only salvation is to destroy it. And that requires that we get off our smug, inductive reasoning couches and start figuring out how we can use what we have and what we know to eliminate this scourge from our republic.
