Let's see. What has Islam done to contribute to the "fabric of our nation?" Oh, yes. They killed 3,000 Americans in New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington DC on September 11th 2001.
And how did that mass homicide contribute to the fabric of our nation? Why, by precipitating the formation of the Department of Homeland Security, of course. Obama has spent the last six years transforming DHS into his own private, civilian army, equipping it with armored vehicles and billions of rounds of ammunition and initiating a DHS "Hitler Youth" training program that is – even as I'm writing this – cranking out neo-Gestapo goons such as the one who pointed a loaded pistol at the head of an 11 year old Boy Scout in Alaska two weeks ago.
Let' see, what else? Ah yes. US Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan, while shouting "Allah Akbar," killed thirteen people and wounded more than thirty others in a shooting massacre at Fort Hood Texas in November 2009. How did this contribute to the fabric of our nation? Why, it allowed us to replace that pesky term "Islamic terrorism" with "workplace violence." I recall the President applauding this particular accomplishment at the time.
OK, how about "strengthening the core of our democracy?" I assume the President must have been referring to such organizations as CAIR, the Council on American Islamic Relations. CAIR has been more adamant even that the ACLU or the sodomy lobby in promoting the idea that minorities have the right to subjugate the majority. (That's not my definition of democracy, but it is President Obama's definition.)
Of course, as any schoolchild used to know, America is not a democracy. It's a republic. And democracy is a pernicious infection that, if left untreated, can destroy a republic, as it has destroyed many republics before ours.
Strengthening the core of our democracy, therefore, is hardly something to be lauded. It is, on the contrary, a thing to be discouraged – if not punished.
I can see how the above cited "accomplishments" of Muslim Americans would indeed appear salubrious to President Obama. But that is only because, in Obama's warped view of the world, salubrious means "deleterious to America."
