All of these demands for equality are framed as pleas for "freedom." Queers claim entitlement to the freedom of marriage. Atheists proclaim their right to freedom from religion. Negroes are still being incited to fight for freedom from long-ago eradicated White domination. And subversive Muslims are waving the false flag of freedom to practice the "religion" of their choice.
But are these claims of rights to freedom valid, or are they speciously presented attempts to curtail the freedom of others in the name of "freedom?" If a queer couple wants to enjoy the perks and protections granted to married couples, all they have to do is have a lawyer draw up a contract to that effect. It would seem their only reason for agitating for the imaginary "right to marry" would be to harass the straight majority and force them to relinquish their freedom to disparage perversion.
Atheists have the right under the First Amendment to practice the religion of Atheism, but the First Amendment does not grant them the right to prevent others from practicing their religions. In fact the First Amendment specifically prohibits Atheists, or any other religious group, from using the government to accomplish that goal.
Negroes have two choices: either join the White mainstream culture along with the Ben Carsons and Larry Elders, or stay in the ghetto and let the Al Sharptons and Erick Holders lie to them about non-existent "White racism." And Whites frankly don't care which course they choose. But when they express their desire for "freedom" or "equality" by destroying the property that represents the economic freedom of others, their cries for "freedom" tend to ring a bit hollow.
Muslims fomenting for "freedom" to practice Sharia has got to be the most ludicrous lament since John Wilkes Booth complained that Lincoln had destroyed Southerners' freedom to hold other Southerners in slavery. Sharia is the most freedom restricting "legal" system ever devised by the darker nature of mankind.
Sharia denies the freedom to practice any religion other than Islam. It denies your right to live if you stray from Islam. It denies women the freedom to drive automobiles, to be seen in public with any man not their husband or brother, to display their female charms and – through female castration – it destroys their freedom to enjoy sexual intercourse. It denies young girls the freedom to get an education. And Muslims have the chutzpa to decry our restriction of their "freedom" to impose this freedom-sucking abomination to the rest of us?
So, assuming that equality is a desirable goal, how would one go about attaining it? Economic equality is attainable only through the invention that created economic equality – free market Capitalism. There was no such thing as economic equality before Capitalism created the economic freedom that enables it, and there can be no economic equality without Capitalism. If you want to be equal, then, you've got to get involved in the Capitalistic system – in other words, get a job.
Religious and minority equality can be attained only by respecting the religious freedom of others. If you rant and rave at the display of a cross or behead people for not conforming to Islam or sue bakers for refusing to bake a queer wedding cake, you have not earned the right to equality for your own beliefs.
You can't get equality by restricting freedom, because they are not independent entities. In fact, equality proceeds from freedom, and equality in the absence of freedom is impossible. Slaves know only the equality of misery. Only free men can enjoy equality of opportunity.
"The society that puts equality before freedom will end up with neither. The society that puts freedom before equality will end up with a great measure of both." – Milton Friedman
