On 26 February, Obama accomplished what no dictator in history has ever before been able to accomplish – the capability of total censorship of his opposition and of the People. On that date was enacted Obama's order to his Federal Communications Commission (authorized under a 1934 law whose reason for existence has long since expired) to declare the internet a "public utility."
FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler gushed on this occasion of unprecedented restriction of our freedom of speech with the following inverted involution, "This is a red letter day for internet freedom. The internet was simply too important to be left without rules and a referee on the field...It is simply too important to allow broadband providers to be the ones making the rules."
Excuse me, Chairman Wheeler? The broadband providers are the ones who built the internet. It's theirs. They made it and they have the right to do with it what they want. Who gave you the right to "referee" what they do with their invention? And since when has the federal government had an interest in protecting the best interests of the People? Are these the same People whom you relentlessly tax and whose desires you consistently ignore?
In typical Communist/Socialist/Fascist/Liberal double-speak, you profess to be suppressing the People's freedom of speech in the interests of the People. Well, let me tell you something, Chairman Wheeler. We the People took care of ourselves long before there was a tits-on-a bore-useless FCC, and we are still capable of taking care of ourselves without your help, Mr. Chairman. Get the hell out of our face and leave our internet alone. If we have problems with it, we'll handle it the way we always have – with free market forces. In any case, whatever we do or don't do is none of your damn business!
And you insult our intelligence by presuming we are too stupid to realize that what you are proposing as "internet neutrality" is nothing more than a government takeover of our major means of exercising our First Amendment rights. Net "neutrality" means "neutralizing" the possibility of the net being used to criticize the Fascist administration.
And that, Chairman Wheeler, is a crime under the aegis of the American Republic, the Constitution of the United States. The first Articled of the Bill of Rights in the Constitution says,
"Congress shall make no law...abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
In your capacity as an agent authorized to act for Congress, you are breaking that law!
I'll leave you with this final thought, Mr. Wheeler. UPS and FedEx make a profit and pay stockholders dividends and make contributions to community service and 401Ks, while the US Postal "Service" sinks ever deeper into a mire of government inefficiency and incompetence. What makes you think we the People will allow you to do that to our internet?
