Could this sort of thing happen in the über-red State of Texas? Not if Texas State Representative Molly White (R – Belton) has anything to say about it. Representative White has introduced to the 84th Texas Legislature a bill titled HB 2553, which preemptively protects Texas businesses by giving them the legal right to refuse service based on religious beliefs. Representative White is painfully specific in the intent of her bill. HB2553 reads:
"A private business owner may refuse to provide goods or services to any person based on a sincerely held religious belief or on conscientious grounds. A private business owner may not: (1) be compelled to provide goods or services in violation of that business owner's sincerely held religious or personal belief or (2) be held liable for refusing to provide goods or services to any person based on a sincerely held religious belief or on conscientious grounds."
If the Multi-Sexual Media (MSM) was incensed with Indiana, they're going to be livid with rage when Texas Governor Gregg Abbott signs HB2553 into law. But no matter how much they rant and rave, you can be sure that Governor Abbott won't dither and retreat after he signs it like Indiana Governor Mike Pence did.
HB2553 is not about discrimination. It's about the prevention of discrimination – against Christians. The coterie of political and media queer apologists who scream "bigotry" at the first suggestion of rational discrimination are the same people who see nothing wrong in driving a legitimate family business into bankruptcy in the name of their anti-Christian bigotry.
There's not a family owned business in Texas that can afford – or that deserves – the harassment and financial damage meted out to the O'Connor family of Walkerton Indiana or the financial ruin imposed on the Klein family of Gresham Oregon. And the State of Texas is going to see that it doesn't have to.
Discrimination is not a bad word in Texas. Discrimination is what keeps a man from polishing his boots with cow paddies. And it's ultimately what keeps a man from being a bigot. Bigotry is based on the inability to discriminate between your rights and other folk's rights.
Now, unlike the Mud Slinging Media (MSM), we don't hate bigots in Texas, but we ain't afraid of 'em either.
