Let me state categorically that whenever you hear anyone invoke "justice" in the name of an individual, you may be certain you are listening to an invocation of injustice. Justice is blind – impartial. It's purpose is to use its balance to separate fact from fiction in the identification and prosecution of society's evildoers. It is an abortion of justice to use it to glorify or exonerate one individual or to demonize other individuals.
It would be generous to call State's Attorney Mosby's announcement precipitous. The initial results of the Baltimore Police Department's preliminary investigation were barely a day old and the medical examiner's report was still warm from the printer when Mrs. Mosby rushed to the conclusion that Gray had been murdered by police officers.
Gene Ryan, President of the Baltimore Fraternal Order of Police, sent Mrs. Mosby a letter calling for her to recuse herself from this case in light of the fact that William H. Murphy Jr., the Gray family's attorney, contributed the maximum legal amount ($5,000) to Mrs. Mosby's campaign for State's Attorney. Mr. Ryan further pointed out that Mosby's husband, Nick, is a Baltimore City Councilman for West Baltimore who stands to gain politically from a quick indictment and prosecution of the officers in question.
But whatever her reaction to Mr. Ryan's request, State's Attorney Mosby has already effectively recused herself from this case by her overt exposition of impartiality. Anything that happens from now on, so long as she is involved, will be in question – by the public and by subsequent judicial reviews. As we say in Texas, "Never believe anything that somebody set out to prove."
In response to the filing of the charges, Gray family attorney Murphy told the press, “We must seize this opportunity to reform police departments throughout this country.”
Was that a Freudian slip? Since when does the City of Baltimore Maryland have the power to "reform police departments throughout the country?"
Could Mr. Murphy possibly be referring to the efforts of the federal government to establish an American Gestapo? Remember that Baltimore Mayor Stephanie "Let-Them-Loot-It's-Only-Property" Rawlings-Blake was a member of President Obama's Task Force on 21st Century Policing, which was convened as the first foot-in-the-door step toward the imposition of a national police force.
Does anyone else find it curious that this latest nudge toward a Nazi-style totalitarian police state is occurring in Baltimore, a city adjacent to DC where the Fascist intellectual infrastructure is already in place?
Is it possible that Baltimore is a staged event, similar to the staged event in Ferguson Missouri? If Freddie Gray was set up to provoke the current situation in Baltimore, his would not be the first life sacrificed to the fulfillment of Obama's dream of his own personal domestic military force.
And if I'm right, his will not be the last.
