And so one day, Georgetto did make for himself a puppet, and he taught the puppet to dance when Georgetto pulled the strings and to talk the words that Georgetto did put into his mouth. And Georgetto did name the puppet Baracchio.
And Baracchio did become a good and obedient puppet and, even though he was not a real boy, he did appear so real that people began to believe that he was. And so it came to pass that Baracchio himself did begin to believe that he was a real boy.
Now Georgetto had a wish for his puppet son that many parents have – that Baracchio would one day be president. But Baracchio was not terribly bright. And so it came to pass that Georgetto, who was as I have said very rich, did simply buy the presidency of Wonderland for Baracchio.
And Baracchio was a very a good and dutiful puppet president, performing many deeds for his toymaker father that made him even richer still. And he did tell many lies in the service of Georgetto, and Baracchio's nose did grow to enormous lengths. And Georgetto was happy and proud of what he had wrought. But Baracchio had a problem.
Baracchio's head had been invaded by a wood eating termite called Ismal, and as the Ismal worm ate its way into his brain, he became a Mushmind, which is a medical term for a puppet who has been infected with Ismal.
And there were in a far off land called the Middle Eastern Kingdom, other Mushmind puppets who had been made by a great toymaker named Mudammit And Baracchio did decide that it was his duty as a Mushmind to assist his brother Mushminds in cutting off the heads of people and in mutilating women.
And so it came to pass that Baracchio spent so much time stealing money from the people of Wonderland to give to the Mushminds in the Middle Eastern Kingdom that he became useless to Georgetto. And Georgetto did decide that he would rather have a daughter than a son.
And so it came to pass that Georgetto did make for himself another puppet, and he did name her Hillocchio.
